SBI Security Solutions and SBI JIG-SAW Modernizations Support Infrastructure Construction and Operation of Core Banking System

TOKYO, JAPAN ‒ SBI Security Solutions Co., Ltd. (SBISecSol) and SBI JIG-SAW Modernizations Co., Ltd. (SBIJSM) today announced their support for the design, construction, and operation of the infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), for a new cloud-based core banking system (hereafter, “next-generation banking system”). This system, developed by SBI Regional Banking Systems Co., Ltd. for regional financial institutions, was implemented by Fukushima Bank, Ltd. (Fukushima Bank) and commenced operations today.

SBISecSol provides SBI Financial Cloud, a solution built using AWS for financial services. Based on SBI Financial Cloud, SBISecSol designed and built the entire infrastructure for the next-generation banking system by adding functions required for core banking systems. The next-generation banking system is a multi-region configuration consisting of the AWS Asia Pacific (Tokyo) Region and AWS Asia Pacific (Osaka) Region, including external network connections. This container orchestration-based infrastructure contributes to the realization of a highly secure and resilient system platform with flexibility and scalability.

SBIJSM, specializing in data control services for the financial industry, is responsible for operating SBI Financial Cloud for this system. This includes 24/7 monitoring, rapid incident response, and automation to ensure stability and efficiency.

Revitalizing regional financial institutions is essential to achieving the SBI Group’s goal of regional revitalization, and the next-generation banking system plays a key role in this effort. SBISecSol and SBIJSM will continue to leverage their respective strengths to support the spread of the next-generation banking system by providing a secure and highly stable infrastructure.

The companies will also utilize the knowledge gained from the construction and operation of Fukushima Bankʼs next-generation banking system to contribute to the digital transformation (DX) of customers throughout the financial industry, including financial institutions.
